Evaluation of Physical and Chemical Properties of Residue from Gasification of Biomass Wastes

Thermochemical conversion of biomass waste is a high potential option for increasing usage renewable energy sources and transferring wastes into the circular economy. This work focuses on evaluation energetic adsorption properties solid residue (char) gasification process. Gasification experiments (wheat straw, hay pine sawdust) were carried out in vertical fixed bed reactor, under CO2 atmosphere at various temperatures (800, 900 1000 °C). The analysis obtained chars included elemental thermogravimetric (TGA) analysis. TGA results indicated that have similar to those coal; subjected data used calculate key combustion parameters. As part properties, BET, SEM, FTIR dynamic methanol vapor sorption tests conducted. specific surface area has risen from 0.42–1.91 m2/g (biomass) 419–891 (char). spectroscopy confirmed influence decomposition characteristic chemical compounds biomass. Methanol revealed °C sawdust highest capacity its mass change was 24.15% P/P0 = 90%. Selected might be an appropriate material volatile organic sorption.
